
Poster presentation guidelines and template
Poster presentations at Light Symposium 2026 will include both:
* a short oral presentation (approximately one minute / one slide), and
* a printed poster (A0 or A1 size) displayed during the conference.
This format gives poster presenters a good opportunity to introduce their work and discuss it further with participants.

Oral presentation guidelines and template
Oral presentations at Light Symposium 2026 will include a 12-minute presentation and will be organized into 2-hour sessions typically consisting of around seven presentations.
At the end of each session, there will also be a joint Q&A discussion of all presenters with the audience, creating an opportunity for exchange of ideas and discussion between presenters and participants.

Instructions and template for the full paper
Instructions for authors of accepted abstracts who wish to submit a full paper for publication in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES), open-access conference proceedings – deadline of submission 25 June 2026:
- Please read carefully the author guidelines for the full papers for Light Symposium 2026
- Templates for full papers: IOP template and template instructions
- Authors must prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX, according to the guidelines and templates, and then convert these files to PDF.
- Full paper has a recommended length of 10-12 pages (max 16 pages), including illustrations, tables, bibliography, etc.
- The submitted full papers will undergo a double-blind review process. Reviewer comments should be carefully considered as they provide valuable guidance for improving your final (camera-ready) paper to be published in the conference proceedings.
- Registration
- In order for the full paper to be published in the proceedings, at least one of the authors from each paper must attend the conference to present the work and pay a regular registration fee.
- There is an extra fee of €100+VAT for each published paper in the conference proceedings (IOP fee, to cover open-access publication costs for the proceedings).
- Deadlines
- Presenter registration: 25 June 2026
- Full paper submission: 25. June 2026
- Notification of full paper acceptance: 30. Aug 2026
- Camera ready (final) full paper submission for the proceedings: 21 September 2026
- Proceedings Licence
- For the papers published in the proceedings of Light Symposium 2026, IOP no longer requires authors to sign and submit copyright forms. Authors who wish to publish a paper are asked to submit a paper only if all authors of the paper agree in full to the terms of the licence. All papers submitted to the proceedings of Light Symposium 2026 for publication will be published according to the IOP licence terms and conditions.
- Information regarding proceedings
- Proceedings will be published in open access ‘Earth and Environmental Science’ by IOP Publishing Ltd.
- IOP Publishing does not further edit or proofread papers after they are submitted.
- Once a paper has been published online, changes will only be permitted in cases of serious scientific error. In those cases, an erratum or corrigendum will be published according to the standard practices of professional scientific publishing.
- Change requests relating to stylistic issues cannot be made to proceedings once they are published, so it is important that authors ensure papers have been adequately checked and proofread prior to submission.
- Upon publication IOP will write to authors informing them of publication and providing them with a link to their paper.
- Printed copies (if required) can be purchased on demand after publication on-line.
Authors of high quality contributions will be invited to submit extended versions of their work in a special issue of a journal to be announced soon.
