Keynote Speakers

Yvonne de Kort
Professor, DePT. of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences. Eindhoven university of technology
Yvonne de Kort is full professor and chair of Environmental Psychology of Human-Technology Interaction at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). She leads a research group studying how lighting conditions affect human functioning including alertness, sleep, and mental health as well as the restorative effects of light and natural environments. Her work emphasizes real-world settings and integrates expertise across lighting, environmental psychology, chronobiology, neuroscience, and technology. By bridging these domains, her research translates insights into evidence-based principles for designing healthier living, working, and healthcare environments.
Ellen Kathrine Hansen is the Founder of the MSc Lighting Design program and the associated Research Lab at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. Through 30 years she has led numerous student and research projects aimed at creating value through innovative daylight and lighting solutions. Her projects are structured according to the model developed in her PhD, Architectural Experiments, which integrates knowledge and methods from the natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences within a transdisciplinary, research-based design process.
